This piece was created in a manic state spurred on by spiritual self-realization and intense amoration. Though mostly chalk pastel, colored pencil, and acrylic paint, I found what I guessed to be a Quinceañera tiara laying on the ground near my home while walking to the grocery store. The bright pink contrasting beautiful with the emerald green motif that had been with me prior – Think yellow brick road. Dorothy tapped her heels together and returned home, this painting was something like that for me too. The pink chalk color reflects a “Mexican Blanket” I purchased in 2019 while my mom, sister, and grandma were visiting me in Nevada. It rests behind my easel and gives me reminders of family and home. This piece has a healing factor for me that I find in both family and my inevitable growth. I hope you find it healing as well!
